Affiliate Disclosure

We earn commissions.
Here’s exactly how it works.

Toolspect uses affiliate links. This page explains what that means, what it affects, and what it absolutely doesn’t — so you can decide how to weigh our recommendations before you act on them.

The basics

How affiliate links work on this site

An affiliate link is a tracked URL that tells a vendor’s system a visitor arrived via Toolspect. When you click one and purchase a subscription, the vendor pays us a commission from their own marketing budget. The price you pay is identical to going directly to the vendor’s site — we add no markup.

1
You click a link on Toolspect

If the link is an affiliate link, it contains a tracking code that identifies Toolspect as the referring site.

2
You sign up for a paid plan

The vendor’s system records the referral. You pay the exact same price as going directly to the vendor.

3
The vendor pays us a commission

The commission comes from the vendor’s marketing budget. Zero effect on your cost, and zero effect on our editorial assessment of that vendor.

Editorial independence

What commissions do and don’t affect

✓ What they affect
Which “Best for X” recommendation boxes appear — we only include tools we’ve tested that genuinely fit the described use case
Which tools we prioritise covering — tools with active affiliate programs are more financially sustainable to review
How the site covers its operating costs, including the subscriptions purchased to test the tools
✗ What they don’t affect
Scores — a tool we’re affiliated with can receive a low score and a detailed critique
Rankings in comparison articles — determined solely by calculated scores
Written assessments — affiliate relationships are not disclosed to vendors before publication
Which tools we criticise — we criticise tools we’re affiliated with when the testing warrants it
